Introduction to HumanResource Management (HRM)
What is Human Resource Management?
According to various
authors there are many HRM definitions. Below are few of them.
Edwin
Flippo - “planning,
organizing, directing, controlling of procurement, development, compensation,
integration, maintenance and separation of human resources to the end that
indivi dual, organizational and social objectives are achieved”
Pigors and
Myers – “It is basically a method of
developing potentialities of employees so that they feel maximum satisfaction
of their work and give their best efforts to the organization”.
Byars and
Rue – “Human resource management
encompasses those activities designed to provide for and coordinate the human
resources of an organization Human resource functions refer to those tasks and
duties performed in organizations to provide for and coordinate human
resources”.
Ivancevich
and Glueck – “Human resource management is
the function performed in organizations’ that facilitate the most effective use
of people (employees) to achieve organizational and individual goals”.
10 Reasons HRM is important to an Organization

· Hiring process – good hiring decision will lead company success with suitable candidates for correct positions.
· Maintaining compliance – HR workers need to ensure all employment related activities are obeyed with employee relationship law of country

The main idea of HRM is to distribute the functions of personnel department over a large number of people making everybody responsible for something and decreasing the costs.The human resource management is very useful for firms to achieve their goals.
